To insure proper handling, the Laboratory should be contacted prior to procurement of the specimen. Either call the Surgical Pathology Resident on-call for Frozen Sections (966-3207) or contact the Laboratory. Special fixatives and protocols are available at the Surgical Pathology/Cytopathology receiving window, or in the Frozen Section Room of the Operating Room Suite.
