Oxacillin resistant staphylococci are resistant to all currently available beta-lactam antibiotics.  Beta-lactams include penicillin, ampicillin, amoxicillin, oxacillin, ticarcillin, piperacillin, and any penicillin beta lactamase inhibitor combinations such as amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, ampicillin/sulbactam, ticarcillin/clavulanic acid, pipercillin/tazobactam.  Beta lactams also include cephalosporins (such as cefazolin, cefepime, cefotaxime, ceftazidime, and ceftriaxone), aztreonam, and carbapenems (such as imipenem, meropenem, and ertapenem).
