The search built into the Labs web site indexes and searches the title of the page, its description and the contents of the page. Please note that the search is not case sensitive - all search terms can be entered in lower case. The table shown below gives examples of typical searches.

antibody pages containing the term 'antibody'
blood lab pages containing the two terms 'blood' and 'lab' on the same page
blood and lab same as above
87536 any page that has '87536' in its content - this is generally the CPT code
thyro* pages containing a term starting with 'thyro', e.g., thyroglobulin, thyroid, thyrotropin
h?v pages containing any three letter term whose first letter is 'h' and last letter 'v', e.g., HHV, HIV, HSV
h?v rna any page with both a wildcard character match and 'rna', e.g., the 'HCV RNA QUAL/QUANT (HCV Viral Load)' and 'Viral Load HIV (RNA PCR)' tests
